YOUNG SCIENTISTS COMMITTEE

Dear TIAFT colleagues,

The next TIAFT meeting in La Martinique (2008) is rapidly approaching and we would like to remind all those registrants who are under 40 years old that they may apply for one of three awards of the Young Scientists Committee of TIAFT. These are the best oral presentation and best poster at the meeting and the best published paper from the last 12 months.

Please check out the Young Scientists page on the TIAFT website and have a look at the eligibility for the awards, and the awards guidelines! Then, send your abstract or paper, and the category you wish to apply for to Dimitri Gerostamoulos dimitrig@vifm.org dimitrig@vifm.org  and Frank Peters frank.peters@uniklinik-saarland.de

The deadline for submission is Monday 12/05/2008.

There will also be a young scientists symposium on Tuesday 3rd June in the Tamarin room of the conference hotel (8.30 am - 1230 pm - lunch included) for young scientists (less than age 40). Don¹t hesitate to attend this informal gathering with lots of interesting topics, and possibility to discuss issues and problems you experience in everyday practice.

GENERAL INFORMATIONS

Transazur Voyages will propose either a full pack (air transportation, meeting registration, accommodation and all meals) or a local pack (meeting registration, accommodation and all meals). Very few companies are landing in Le Lamentin airport
All packs include all breakfasts, lunches, dinners, social activities (welcome party, trip to rhumerie Clement and habitation Reunion, gala dinner) with beverages
The Congress place will be Hotel la Bateliere, at Schoelcher, in the North of Fort de France (5 km). All scientific sessions will take place at la Bateliere. All lunches, both for participants and accompanying persons will be served at la Bateliere. A number of rooms have been secured there. Breakfasts and dinners will be served at the respective hotels
(except trip to habitation Reunion and gala dinner)

The organizing committee is also proposing 3 other hotels at les Trois ilets, a more touristy area of Martinique. These hotels are: Carayou, Bakoua and la Pagerie. Travel will be proposed by boat (25 min) at 8 am and 11.45 am to la Bateliere and return at 2 pm and 6 pm (some more extra travels will also be displayed)
